This scenic byway follows Bear Lake north on U.S. 89 to Montpelier, then north on U.S. 30, where you leave the Cache National Forest and enter the Caribou National Forest. It goes through Soda Springs, Lava Hot Springs and ends in McCammon. There are 15 historic and scenic stops on the byway including Chesterfield Historic Town Site, the National Oregon/California Trail Portal and Sheep Rock Oregon Trail.
